In our English lessons this half term, we have started to look into Myths and Legends. As part of this the children have been learning about The Sword in the Stone. To carry on this learning we would like the children to watch the Disney version of The Sword in the Stone if you have it. If not we would like them to watch either Peter Pan or Toy story. We would then like the children to write an adventure story imagining they are one of the characters within the story. The children need to remember to use paragraphs, inverted commas and punctuate speech correctly.
Maths
Please sit your child somewhere where they can see out of the window for 10 minutes. Children need to make a tally chart of how many different birds they see in the garden in that 10 minutes. Children then need to transfer the data into a bar chart, then answer questions such as which is the most popular bird? Which is the least popular bird? What is the difference between the most popular and least popular bird? Which is the 2nd most popular bird? How many pigeons and sparrows are there altogether?
Topic
Research famous landmarks in Paris, Louvre, Arc de Triumph, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower. Children need to find out as much information as possible about each of these landmarks when they were built how many visitors each year etc. The children need to use subheadings for each and write at least a paragraph on each landmark please.
Please make time for some art activities during the week. The children have enjoyed looking at French artists although any artwork is very relaxing.
Thank you for your co-operation during this difficult time take care
