WREN PARK BREAKFAST WRAPAROUND CARE

Premier Sports run a Breakfast Wraparound Care at Wren Park since earlier this year. The Premier Sports coaches provide the children with a social and enjoyable ‘family’ breakfast around a table. This will include toast or cereal and a drink. They will then involve the children in fun based activities either in the hall or on our school grounds until 8.50am and the staff will then ensure the children are delivered safely to their classrooms. The club runs from 7.30am – 9.00am, Monday to Friday.

The price is £5.30 per child (families with more than one child attending would pay £5.30 for one child and £4.50 for any other siblings attending).

To ensure the club runs smoothly we are asking parents to read the terms below which has all the information and expectations on it. These terms must be adhered to at all times.

  • The Breakfast Wraparound Care will start at 7.30am and parents can drop children off between 7.30am and 8.10am.

  • Parents/carers MUST NOT come into the school car park at any time or for any reason. There are no parking restrictions on Jackson Avenue until 8.00am so please park there and walk your child in.

  • Please park considerately and do not block any driveways.

  • We would like all infant children to be accompanied into school by their parent or carer to make sure they arrive safely and are registered by Premier Education staff.

  • Breakfast will be served until 8.15am. All children must have arrived before this time to ensure they get a breakfast.

  • If a child doesn’t want or require a breakfast the charge is still £5.00 per day.

  • Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

  • The Breakfast Wraparound Care is for children attending Wren Park only.

  • If you have any concerns regarding the Breakfast Wraparound Care please speak to Premier Education staff.

School Clubs

At Wren Park, we endeavour to provide our pupils with opportunities to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities during their time at school — through sport, music to personal development and wellbeing. We believe that there are a whole range of benefits that come from involvement in these activities.

Being part of these groups or teams also provides a sense of belonging, with the extra-curricular activities offering an opportunity for our children to interact and socialise with others with similar interests and potentially build friendships outside of their year group.

There are a variety of paid and non-paid clubs on offer for children to join. Letters to join these clubs are normally provided at the start of term. Depending on the club, children might join on a first come first serve basis. If spaces are limited children who did not get to take part during one term will be given the option to take part in the next term.  Please speak to the office if you would like further information about clubs.

These clubs take place during the school day.

Piano, Flute, Guitar and Ukulele lessons

Piano and flute lessons are provided by Katie Smith every Monday for children in KS2. In addition, we have Tim Wright who provides guitar and ukulele lessons every Thursday and Friday. Tim and Katie are very experienced music teachers and have been working at our school for a very long time, the children enjoy their lessons and it is lovely to see the progress the children make under their guidance.

Rocksteady

Rocksteady music takes place every Tuesday afternoon with a member of the Rocksteady team. The children are given opportunities to play in a rock band learning how to play either the drums, electric guitar/bass guitar, keyboard or develop their singing vocals. Throughout the year, the children then perform in their rock bands to an audience of their parents and classes.

Sing Squad

Mrs Glynn runs Sing Squad every Wednesday lunchtime with Years 3 to 6. The children and Mrs Glynn practise their singing skills, listen to music and sing a variety of songs.

Netball

Miss Pitt runs a Netball club, before school for children in Year 6.
